5 tips for hiring a GC.

I am a REI and construction consultant / retired GC.
GOOD GC's are busy. You have to have something to offer them other than "work". they have that.

Here is a few tips.
1. Pay more. (like, more than you "should")
2. Help out. (have what you want done line itemized and include what materials)
3. Care. (act like your project isn't just a way to make money off of your trades work)
4. Give a cut (bonuses based on completion gives some ownership of the end result)
5. Hire a consultant / inspector to review their bids and work so you aren't blind to all the details that matter.
